Stillness

I was on a winter trip to the Minnesota North Shore area. Not long before finding this scene, I had been driving around chasing scenes with active snowfall. It was beautiful for sure but a bit frantic as I was trying to make the very most of my limited time in the area and cover as much ground as I could while conditions were good. The snowfall finally faded away. The lake became calm and still as blue hour passed and night began to settle in. I found the three rocks just off the icy shoreline and captured a long exposure of the scene to create this image. Not a bad way to bring this trip to an end.
